Privacy Policy

Video to Text ("the extension", "the service") is operated by AnyVideo. We believe privacy policies should be concise, readable, and transparent about what is processed and what is deliberately discarded.
The short version
- Audio is never stored: Video audio is processed in temporary storage that is deleted immediately when the transcription job finishes.
- Transcripts auto-delete after 7 days: Transcripts remain available for 7 days so you can re-download them, after which they are permanently wiped from the database. You can also delete them manually anytime.
- Zero data selling or ads: We do not sell personal information, run tracking analytics, or inject advertisements.
- No AI model training: Your audio and transcripts are never used to train machine learning models.
Data we process
1. Video URLs submitted for transcription
We receive the video URL you submit to download audio tracks and check for official platform captions. URLs are recorded with the job and deleted alongside the transcript after 7 days (or immediately upon manual deletion).
2. Generated transcripts
Saved in our database for 7 calendar days to enable re-downloads and exports from the extension side panel. Deleted automatically when the retention period ends, or immediately when you click "Delete transcript".
3. Account details (registered users only)
If you create a free or Pro account, we store your email address for authentication (via one-time magic codes or Google OAuth). Payments are processed securely through Stripe; we never receive or store your credit card numbers.
4. Installation identifier
To provide one free 10-minute transcript per browser installation without requiring an account, the extension generates a randomized installation ID. We store only a cryptographic salted hash of this identifier, never the raw value.
5. Audio processing infrastructure
For videos lacking official subtitles, audio chunks are sent securely to our inference speech-to-text pipeline (Groq, Inc.) to generate text. Chunks are processed in temporary storage solely to return transcription text.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third-party data brokers or advertisers.
- We do not inspect your broader browser history; the extension only has permission to communicate with its own side panel and our API.
- We do not store permanent audio recordings of any video submitted.

Your privacy rights
You have full control over your data. You can delete any individual transcript immediately from the extension side panel. To delete your registered account and all associated records, email support@anyvideo.app and your data will be expunged within 24 hours.
